Keratotis Pilaris
A harmless skin condition, resembling rough, dry bumps. Usually found on the back of upper arms, legs and bottoms.
What is it:
Keratosis Pilaris is a harmless skin condition. Usually found on the back of your upper arms, legs and bum cheeks, it resembles little red or dry patches or bumps. The bumps don't generally hurt or itch, but they can be bothersome to some people and then of course some people complain that it just doesn't look attractive and resembles goose bumps.
How is it caused:
KP is caused by a buildup of keratin that eventually plugs and blocks the follicle. This is why a bump, or scaly dry patch appears. Also, if you don't exfoliate or moisturize your skin, this condition can appear or actually worsen.
How to Prevent + Treat:
There is no known cure for KP but you can prevent, reduce its appearance and treat it. Use a dry brush gently every day on your whole body to exfoliate dry skin. Wipe the area after with Queen Bee's Buzz off Bumps that contains Glycolic and Salicylic acids that remove excess dry skin and push debris out of the follicles. It's essential to moisturize the skin afterward and fortunately our Buzz off Bumps contains ingredients designed to smooth skin and lock in moisture such as Oats, Allantoin, Marshmallow Root, Aloe Vera and more!
After exfoliating and for an extra boost of luxury, massage some of our custom made Worker Bee Oil into and over your body. It's loaded with sunflower oil, which contains uber healing vitamin e and refreshing wild mint.
